The Mathews Historical Museum is sponsoring a cake baking contest and sale to be held Saturday, June 19, in time for Father’s Day.

Barbara Bass, contest chair, said cakes must be homemade and not use box mixes. Entries will be taken at 9 a.m. on contest day to the museum located at 200 Main Street, and judged. There is no entry fee.

Those entering cakes will be asked if they can be donated for sale to benefit the museum. “We would like to have your recipe for a future cookbook to be made by the museum,” Bass added.
