Emery Anne Tayman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher of Gloucester County, passed away surrounded by love and family on Friday, July 11, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Stephen Tayman, and is now reunited with him in heaven. Teaching was more than a career for Anne—it was her calling. She spent her later years as a paraprofessional in the preschool program at Botetourt Elementary School, where she was known for her patience, warmth, and unwavering care for every child she worked with. Prior to that, she was a Special Education paraprofessional at Queens Lake Middle School, where she made a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike. Anne found the most happiness in life’s simple pleasures: spending time with her grandchildren, afternoons in her backyard pool, cuddles with her beloved dogs, and family gatherings full of love and conversation. Her greatest joy came from time spent with those she loved most. After Anne and Bob made the courageous decision to donate their son’s organs through LifeNet Health, Anne dedicated herself to supporting other families who chose to give the gift of life through organ donation. She worked closely with LifeNet Health for many years, offering comfort, advocacy, and hope. Anne’s corneas were donated in a final act of generosity so that someone else might receive the gift of sight. In honor of her unwavering commitment to this life-changing cause, the family asks that donations be made to LifeNet Health in memory of Anne. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Robert Tayman, and her three children: Lyn Whitt (Justin Whitt), Joseph Tayman (Kendall Cooke), and Matthew Tayman. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Stephanie Whitt, Justin Whitt (Maddie Pardue), Dustyn Tayman, Ryleigh Tayman, and Brynna Tayman. Each of them brought immense joy to her life, and she poured her heart into loving and supporting them. There will be a graveside service to celebrate Anne on Thursday, July 17, at 3:30 p.m. at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3609 Providence Road, Hayes, Va. 23072, conducted by Pastor Bill West. Anne’s legacy of compassion, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
