Wenner said the county is facing predictions of high flooding probability and extreme heat, but a slow hurricane season. To meet the challenge, Wenner said that her department has programs to ensure community preparedness and planning to meet emergency situations. It coordinates with county churches, organizations and individuals and offers training as well as volunteer programs.
