Emergency allotment of SNAP

Virginia residents who receive benefits under the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will again, in June, receive funds from an emergency allotment of benefits.

A press release from the Virginia Department of Social Services said the maximum allowable amount of monthly benefit will be automatically loaded to existing recipients’ Electronic Benefits Transfer cards on Wednesday, June, 16.

Those amounts and the household size to which they apply are: one person, $234; two people, $430; three people, $616; four, $782; five, $929; six, $1,114; seven, $1,232; each additional person, $176.

The emergency allotment benefits do not apply to Pandemic EBT recipients.

Gloucester SNAP participants with questions about their benefits should call 804-693-2671. Mathews participants should call 804-725-7192.
