Elsie Lockley Burse, 75, of Gloucester, died Friday, May 16, 2014, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News surrounded by her family. 

The widow of the late Eddie L. Burse Sr., she is survived by five children, Eddie L. Burse Jr. (Beverly) of Hampton, Evangeline Juanita Myers and Eunice Burse Jackson (Darren) of Newport News, Earl Burse and the Rev. Janice Burse of Gloucester; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Morning Glory Baptist Church, 8956 Morning Glory Road, Gloucester, with interment in the church cemetery. The viewing will be at 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at the J.K. Redmond Funeral Home, Shacklefords, and at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
