ELLEN CRAY LEIGH

Ellen Cray Leigh, 67, of Gloucester, left her earthly home and entered her Heavenly home on Friday, March 21, 2014 after losing her courageous battle with cancer.

Ellen was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church and retired as a postal clerk at Gloucester Point Post Office. Ellen was a member of the York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons.

She was a caring friend and very devoted to her family. She will be remembered always as a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Gene A. Leigh and father, Linwood Cray.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca L. Teagle and husband Robert; her mother, Mabel Diggs Cray, and two precious grandchildren, Meg and Andrew Teagle.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Deborah T. Marion and the Rev. Bill West were held 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.

The family would like to thank Ellen’s hospice nurses and aids and her private caregivers who cared for her for the last five months of her life with much love and compassion.
