ELIZABETH RANDOLPH BROWN

Elizabeth Randolph “Randy” Brown of Tappahannock, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2013.

She was born in Norfolk, Va., the daughter of Raymond and Elizabeth Brown. She grew up in Gloucester County and attended Gloucester County Day School, and graduated from St. Margaret’s School and Sweet Briar College.

She received her Master’s degree at Virginia Commonwealth University and taught mathematics in the state of Virginia for 44 years. She had the privilege of teaching many wonderful students and working with other wonderful educators. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she served on the vestry. She was a member of the Garden Club of the Middle Peninsula and a book club and a bridge club.

Randy was predeceased by her father, Dr. Raymond S. Brown and brother, Raymond S. Brown Jr. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Brown; her sisters, Cecilia Brown and T. Robins Brown; her children Lee, Raye, and Bill, and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Church in Tappahannock on Saturday, June 29 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow immediately in the parish hall. In honor of Randy, come dressed to impress.
