ELIZABETH LINDA BERNADINE TEDORI MONTANE

Elizabeth Linda Bernadine Tedori Montane, 82, of Hayes, Va., died Nov. 12, 2012 after a long courageous fight with cancer.

Elizabeth was born May 20, 1930, Manhattan, N.Y. She graduated from Julia Richman High School and attended and worked at New York University, where she met Claude, her husband of 52 years.

Elizabeth was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife and mother who put family above all else. Elizabeth and Claude raised three sons in Staten Island, N.Y., and retired from Verizon. Elizabeth Montane was a devout Catholic who attended St. Therese Catholic Church in Gloucester, Va.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Claude; parents, Hugo and Rose Tedori, and her brother Fred.

She is survived by her sister, Anna; brothers, Frank and Albert; sons, Jean (Marie) of Newport News, Marcel (friend Susan Chandler) of Hayes and Claude G. (Mandy) of Plano, Texas, and grandchildren, Theresa, Joseph, Isabella and Catherine.

A Catholic Funeral Liturgy conducted by the Rev. James Cowles will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception in the social hall. Inurnment will be private.

The family would like to thank Father James Cowles of St. Therese Catholic Church, Doctors Daniel Muench and John Miller and their staffs, Doctor Ward and the staff at Warwick Forest for their excellent care during Elizabeth’s illness, and Donna O’Hara and Maureen Rowell of Geriatric Care Advisors of Hampton Roads for their care and attention.
