ELIZABETH ‘BETTY’ CALLIS FAULKNER WILLIAMS

Betty Williams, 88, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. 

The daughter of Stanley and Clemmie Callis, she lived much of her early life in Mathews and Middlesex counties and later lived for many years in Richmond. Since 2003, Betty has resided in Bowling Green.

While living in Middlesex County, Betty was the co-owner of the Betty-Ann Florist and was an original co-owner of the Rappahannock Vacationer Hotel and Restaurant in Urbanna. She was very active in the community including the Urbanna Junior Woman’s Club and the Urbanna Oyster Festival and Beauty Pageant.

When living in Richmond, Betty was an office manager and administrator with American Inks and Coatings. In her active years Betty loved to entertain friends and travel, and she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick V. Williams Jr., and her brothers, James “Jimmy” Callis and Ed Callis.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeanne F. Ames (John), Sue F. Bailey (Frank), and Shannon Kay Faulkner; sons, Charles W. “Billy” Faulkner Jr. (Joan), and Gregg C. Faulkner (Valerie); 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Betty’s life was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 26 at Bowling Green Baptist Church. The family received friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o’clock. Interment was at 11 a.m. on Monday at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield.

The family was assisted by Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home in Saluda.
