ELIZABETH BETCA ANDERSON

Elizabeth “Betca” Anderson passed from this world on Sunday, May 29, 2016, and went to her eternal home in heaven.

Betca was born on October 4, 1948 in Dover, New Jersey. She attended school in New Jersey, graduating from Roxbury High School and Montclair State College with a degree in Elementary Education.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Florence Hriczko; her devoted sister and long-time caregiver, Sara Turner, and her brothers, Carl and Lewis Cramer.

Betca leaves behind a sister and brother-in-law, Lila and Charles Peterson of Delaware, and a brother, Foster Cramer of Florida. She is also survived by her niece, Norma Enders of Mathews, who will greatly miss her. Betca leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family who loved her dearly. Betca is also survived by her two boys, James Anderson Jr. and John Anderson. Although she never knew them as adults, their picture was always near to her and they were always in her heart.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of the Riverside-Mathews Convalescent Center in Mathews where Betca was a resident for the past six years. The staff there cared for her with the utmost love, compassion and respect. Although over the years, Betca needed to make several trips to the hospital, she was always happy and relieved to be back at the nursing home with her “family” of caregivers and other residents.

Final interment will take place in Stanhope, New Jersey, following a private service.

The family gratefully asks that any memorial donations be sent to the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Virginia, is in charge of the arrangements.
