EDWARD GRINNELL HUTSON

Edward Grinnell Hutson of New Point, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012.

He was born May 20, 1930, the son of the late John Lemuel Hutson and Minnie Grinnell Hutson. His brother, J. Lemuel Hutson Jr., preceded him in death.

E.G. was a third generation commercial fisherman. In the 1960s he skippered a yacht for Dr. James A. Jones, who resided at Woodstock at Port Haywood. E.G. spent the remainder of his career as a menhaden boat pilot and retired from Omega Protein.

He was a lifetime attendee of New Point Friends Church.

Survivors include his son, William Campbell Hutson; sister, Ann Hutson Rowe; two nieces, Susan Hutson Greene and Nancy Rowe Layng, and a nephew, John L. Hutson III.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Paul Annex Cemetery, Susan.
