EDNA MARIE SETTERHOLM HEYWOOD

Edna Marie Setterholm Heywood, 91, of Hayes, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on July 4, 2016.

Edna was born June 25, 1925, in Gloucester County, the Perrin Creek area, to August Frederick and Annie Lee Setterholm.

She served with the U.S. Army during WWII at Fort Eustis in the 1321st Service Unit as a Convoy Operator and Jeep Mechanic. Edna was a bus driver for Gloucester County Schools for 28 years, a job she enjoyed for her love of children. She led a very full life surrounded by her family which was her most precious gift.

She was preceded in death by husband, Stanley Heywood Sr.; daughter, Linda Lee Heywood Coates; son, Stanley Heywood Jr.; parents, and nine sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her six grandchildren, Kandy Brown Grenier and husband Rob, Lank Brown Jr. and wife Becky, Don Coates and wife Jenny, Brandy Heywood, Eric Heywood and Wayne Heywood and wife Kelly; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Heywood and son-in-law Oscar Coates Jr.; great-grandchildren, Amber, Katrina, Jesse, Angel, Harley, Savannah, Katelyn, Harmony, Caleb, Desiree and Dawson; three great-great-grandchildren, and her wonderful family at Greenfield Senior Living at Chesapeake, where she spent the last years of her life.

Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, 2016, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
