What is all the fuss whether Ann Romney "works" or not? She is not running for president. The nonsense brings to mind something similar from 20 years ago, when Hillary Clinton received heaps of criticism for not caring about chocolate chip cookie recipes.

What difference does it make if any responsible adult citizen makes a choice for his or her life, so long as it does not hurt others, although that choice may not conform to another person’s or group’s world view?

The only lesson we can draw from this political sideshow is that, in this land of the free and home of the brave, and supposedly of equality, it is way past time to have a woman as president, chief justice, and in any other post which still sits on top of the glass ceiling.

Perhaps it is time for a bit of consciousness-raising: a new round of women’s lib is overdue.
