Editorial: What makes you thankful? Please let us know

Next week Americans will pause, take a deep breath, carve the turkey, and celebrate their blessings.
Thanksgiving is an all-American holiday, its roots in the competing traditions of the earliest colonies (Virginia beats Massachusetts in date of settlement and in Thanksgiving, you-all). We will gather; it’s the busiest travel period of the year. And we will give thanks for all the good things that make our lives worth living.
In next Thursday’s paper, the Gazette-Journal will adhere to a relatively new tradition, but one we have learned to anticipate with pleasure. On this page, we will print your articles on what makes you thankful. And we want to hear from you.
The deadline is looming. We are coming out early next week in time to get the paper in the mail before Thanksgiving.
