Editorial: Unbelievable

We have heard many, many outrageous statements during the course of this depressing Presidential election campaign.

Here is the greatest exaggeration by Hillary Clinton: putting half of Donald Trump’s supporters in a “basket of deplorables.”

If the outlook for Clinton-Trump is evenly split, that means Trump gets half of the votes, and therefore one-quarter of America’s voters are deplorable people. We don’t buy that. It’s unbelievable that a candidate who says we are “stronger together” (we agree) could make a statement so permanently divisive.

Donald Trump has made so many unbelievable statements that we don’t know where to start. Here are a horrible half-dozen that in our view go far beyond the bounds of acceptable public discourse:
