When the power goes out, who gets the call?

A couple of weeks ago, power went out widely as Tropical Storm Isaias blew through Tidewater.

With more tropical systems trying to get organized far out in the Atlantic Ocean, we don’t want Isaias to slip into distant memory too quickly. Its winds brought a tornado to Gloucester and knocked down trees and power lines everywhere.

Dominion Energy personnel and contractors got right on the damaged utility wires and within hours for most people, a few days for the rest, electricity was up and running again.

We don’t know how they do it, but we are always grateful to them for getting that vital job done so well.
