According to information from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the majority of small businesses rely on holiday shopping for at least a quarter of their annual revenue. The few weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s can make the difference for many of the mom-and-pop shops along Main Street.
While it might be easier to pull up the Amazon app on your phone to order that Christmas gift, or stop by a big box store to get the latest toy, do yourself and your neighbors a favor—Take a few extra minutes and go to your independently owned neighborhood store.
They may not have exactly what you’re looking for, but we’re pretty sure that they’ll take the time to help you find that special gift. That’s one thing you’ll get with a small, family-owned shop; they’ll make sure that you are happy with your purchase. Big retailers may have a lower price, but they don’t have the service that comes with it.
