Editorial: Rounding the corner

It appears as though we are finally rounding the corner in terms of getting back to something approaching “normal” after COVID-19.

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifted its mask guidance for fully vaccinated people, both indoors and out, under most circumstances.

Vaccinated people can mingle without masks, two things they were unable to do one year ago before vaccines were developed.

Those with vaccines are free for now. Continued recovery from this pandemic relies on case numbers and deaths staying down, and will be greatly helped if even more people accept the free vaccine now available to everyone age 12 and older.

We have crossed our fingers that people will do what they should do, and help us continue to emerge from a very, very dark place in our era.
