Editorial: Political letters

Fresh off one small election, we are still catching our breath at the volume of letters we received concerning the (few) candidates. Things will be changing in 2023.
Next year’s general election will bring ballots featuring most local offices. If this year’s letter volume is repeated on the same scale for the larger election, we cannot imagine how we would ever be able to find space for everything.
So, take notice now (and this will be repeated as the next election rolls around):
We will accept one letter per writer, from August through the election, supporting a candidate or candidates, issue or issues, appearing on the ballot, and will follow a strict limit of 300 words.
If it runs on past that limit, we will not use it.
And if you have more to say, we have plenty of advertising space.
