One of the reasons some have cited for their vaccine hesitancy has been that, while there are three vaccines available to protect people from COVID-19, the FDA gave the go-ahead to each only on an emergency use basis.
All that changed on Monday when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted full, unconditional approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. Once all the data is in, we anticipate the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will soon follow suit.
For those pointing to the emergency authorization as the reason why they weren’t sure about getting the shot, that hurdle is now past. So consider doing it. For yourself. For your family. For your community.
If you still remain uncertain, speak to your primary care physician about your concerns. But please do something.
