Editorial: Know your legislators

The Virginia General Assembly convened Wednesday, and the Gazette-Journal presents its annual guide to getting in touch with our elected representatives in Richmond.

For starters, visit virginiageneralassembly.gov. This site has full information on contacting delegates and senators, the committees on which they sit, and the status of all pending legislation.

The 2015 legislative session lasts until Feb. 28. The delegates and senators are our voice in Richmond; they ask you to let them know where you stand on issues, so don’t hesitate to do so.

Del. Keith Hodges of Urbanna represents Gloucester, Mathews and other localities of the 98th district, Essex, King and Queen, Middlesex and part of King William, in the House of Delegates. A Republican, he is in his second term.

Hodges is a member of the Committees on Counties, Cities and Towns; General Laws; and Health, Welfare and Institutions.
