You need look no further than our “Pets on Parade” section in this week’s paper for an illustration of the angels living among us.

Individuals and businesses throughout the community have supported the cause of homeless pets, sponsoring cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens and … a pig! … that are waiting for homes at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society’s Animal Shelter. Please take a look at their faces.

And to illustrate their love for companion animals, many additional readers sent photos of their pets for a photography contest. Look at the faces of these fortunate animals that enjoy the security of a good home and dedicated caregivers.

Most of us, as we stated above, are just trying to help wherever we can. And that includes helping our furry and feathered friends.
