Editorial: It affects everything

If this week has taught us nothing else, it’s that COVID-19 has no respect for someone’s wealth, position or prominence.

Late last week, members of the White House inner circle began falling like dominoes, beginning with the announcement that Trump senior advisor Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus.

The biggest announcement came soon after, with news of the President and First Lady being COVID-19 positive coming out in the early-morning hours Friday. A growing number of White House staff, several U.S. Senators and others like former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (who had helped the President with his debate prep) have since tested positive, some with mild symptoms and others asymptomatic.

We join those across the nation and the world in hoping for a speedy recovery for all of those in the White House inner circle who have tested positive—and we wish the same for the 7.5 million Americans (and counting) who have contracted the virus since it arrived here at the start...
