Editorial: Green power

Today is Earth Day, an annual observance to illuminate the importance of our natural world to the quality of our lives.

Daily activity is all haste, haste, haste, and the modern conveniences make it easy to do things and to move on with little regard for consequences.

It is encouraging, however, to note that some of the biggest names in industry are leading the way in making this part of the earth a cleaner place.

In Virginia, Dominion Energy is committing itself to developing renewable solar and wind power resources.Domestic and foreign automakers are rolling out more electric vehicles every year.

The Biden administration insists that environmental considerations be among important elements in all decisions.

Locally, some opposition has sprung up to solar power fields. We hope they can be regulated but not banned. They provide clean power and we need more of it.
