The state has announced a grant program to help localities improve public access to the water. Money granted by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries can be used to construct or repair landings. But first, the localities have to apply for it.
We are surrounded by water and almost everyone loves to get out on it. We hope our local governing bodies will investigate the grant program and ask for a share of the funding available, however much or little it may be. The opportunity is too good to miss.
