Editorial: As usual?

Three Republicans—two members of Congress and one fired staffer—have said in recent weeks that the House of Representatives’ Benghazi inquiry has the objective of attacking Hillary Clinton.

Is this true? Where’s the outrage? Are our representatives wasting our tax dollars just in an effort to bring down a Democratic front-runner?

Former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has appealed his corruption conviction to the United States Supreme Court. His lawyers argue that what he did was no more than he or any politician would do for any up-and-striving Virginia business.

Somehow we cannot get the image of that Rolex and that Ferrari and a grinning governor out of our editorial mind. If that’s business as usual, God help the honest little man who goes to work, pays his taxes, asks for nothing special, and for sure will never get anything special.

Where’s the outrage?

Business as usual, politics as usual, if that’s true in these cases, smells rotten to...
