Edge Hill House

Local author and historian Bill Lawrence spoke Monday to the Gloucester Woman’s Club about his recently compiled book, "The History of the Edge Hill House, Home of the Gloucester Woman’s Club." The book is for sale by the Gloucester Woman’s Club. Original portions of Edge Hill House, previously known as Long Bridge Ordinary, were built between 1750 and 1770. It has been on the Virginia Historic Landmarks Register since 1973. The GWC, established 100 years ago to save the old structure, has owned it since 1920.
