Eden’s Garden Market opens at North

Eden’s Garden Market, located on Route 14 at North, held its grand opening Saturday.

Owner Heidi Chafik said business was brisk over the opening weekend, and that she sold out of some items. The business is named for Chafik’s granddaughter.

The market sells an assortment of locally grown and made products. Chafik grows some of the produce in a large garden at her Gloucester residence, purchases some fruits and vegetables from other local sources, and brings in others from nearby states.

A recent visit to the store found tomatoes, potatoes, corn, strawberries and other fresh produce being sold inside the shop. Chafik also plans to sell produce outside the store, which most recently housed a craft shop and previously housed businesses as varied as a heating/air conditioning business and a service station.
