EDA receives 15+ applications for small business stimulus program

More than 15 applications have been received since the Gloucester Economic Development Authority launched a new stimulus program in early July.

The financial assistance will support existing businesses and recruit new ones to the county, said Sherry Spring, the county’s director of economic development.

At least one business has applied for financial assistance under five different programs, Spring said, with three different companies applying for aid in three or more categories. Grant applications have already been received from businesses at Hayes and Gloucester Court House, she said, and businesses located or planned elsewhere in Gloucester are also encouraged to apply.

Actual funds are not distributed until after the improvements have been completed and receipts for completed work submitted to the EDA, Spring said.
