Susan Eaton, Gloucester High School girls’ varsity basketball coach, and her husband, Andy Eaton, have started a new business, “Drive Lively NNK,” a driving school that is licensed and approved by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Eatons live in the Lancaster County community of Lively and decided to start a driving school since there is not one in their area. The school will serve the Northern Neck area, as well as Mathews and Middlesex counties. Susan is the licensed driving instructor and Andy handles the administrative duties, including scheduling and office responsibilities.

To become approved to start a driving school, the DMV requires license holders to meet strict requirements, including the inspection of the vehicle used for training along with its installed safety equipment, employee criminal background checks, proper insurance and surety bonds, monthly reporting and an annual compliance review.
