Easter treats

On March 25, members of American Legion Auxiliary, Gloucester Unit 75, put on their bunny ears and hopped into each convalescent care facility sharing smiles and laughter at each stop, dropping off goodie bags filled with treats and handcrafted cards for the veterans. The group also delivered a box filled with bags of treats for the caregivers to show their appreciation for all they do for loved ones in their care. Deliveries included Gloucester House, Sanders and Walter Reed in Gloucester, and Riverside Lifelong Health and Rehabilitation in Mathews. Making the deliveries were, from left, Cheryl Knapke, Linda Osenton, Claudia Clifton, Fran McKenney and Julie Coates, pictured here with Assistant Activity Director Jennifer Caldwell at Walter Reed Convalescent Center, at right. Afterwards the ladies had lunch in Mathews while still wearing their bunny ears, spreading good cheer and laughter.
