Dusenberry named Visitor Center’s interim director

Lori Dusenberry has taken over the reins of the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center as its interim executive director. Its previous executive director, Jonathan Putt, left Sept. 22 to take a job with the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Neck.

Dusenberry, whose husband Greg serves as president of MCVIC’s board of directors, said she stepped in to “keep things afloat” until a permanent executive director could be brought on board, which will most likely be early next year. She said she has always been a part of MCVIC, helping out in different areas when needed. She and Greg also own and operate the Inn at Tabbs Creek in Port Haywood.

According to Dusenberry, she will work part-time, focusing on marketing and tourism for the county; seeking and applying for grants and expanding community outreach.
