Dunkin’ celebrates grand opening of Point location

Dunkin’ celebrated the grand opening of its Gloucester Point location on Saturday. The celebration included a free-coffee-for-a-year giveaway, a free medium hot or iced coffee all weekend long, samples of Dunkin’ products, prizes from the Dunkin’ prize wheel, a live remote by WXGM 99FM and an appearance from Cuppy, the Dunkin’ mascot.

“I thought it was a great day and a very successful grand opening,” said location owner Gregory Nigro. “The community was welcoming and we are happy to finally be here.”

People showed up at the location as early as 3 a.m. and the line was wrapped around the store to participate in the free coffee for a year giveaway. Fifty lucky people received certificates for free coffee for a year to only be used at the Dunkin’ location.

The location held its ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Those present included Nigro, Gloucester County York District supervisor Phillip Bazzani, members of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, county employees and others.

FM 99.1 was there from 10 a.m. to noon with their radio remote hosts Rod Fitzwell and Rock Girl Samantha.

The store, located at 1620 Greate Road, is open daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nigro and Restaurant Services of the Outer Banks (a closely held family company headquartered in Nags Head, N.C.) own and operate over 54 Dunkin’ locations in Virginia and North Carolina.
