Dukes shut out Denbigh, 47-0

The Gloucester High School varsity Dukes blew out visiting Denbigh, 47-0, in front of a home crowd in the Gloucester High School stadium on Friday. 

“We were on point,” said GHS head coach John Scalf on his team’s second consecutive win. The Dukes moved to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Peninsula District. 

“We really did come together, the offense, the defense and special teams. It all clicked, all aspects,” Scalf said. With the score at 33-0 at the half, Scalf said he had the opportunity to give a lot of his players time on the field.

Gloucester got touchdowns from six offensive players, including Joren Brown, Rejuan Forrest, Corey Ward, Rashad Williams, Allah Armstead and quarterback Isaiah Spencer. The Gloucester defenders notched a safety in the win, and four Gloucester players had 10 or more tackles on the night.
