Dukes roll over Warriors, 49-0

Gloucester varsity football players shocked Kecoughtan—and many of their own fans—with a 49-0 season-opening blowout of the Warriors Friday evening at Gloucester High School. 

“We worked as a unit,” said GHS head coach Brandon Kelley. “We really just came together and played textbook football. Everything just went right. We scored on six of our first seven possessions.” 

Junior quarterback Isaiah Spencer had a great night, throwing for four touchdowns and rushing for one. He completed 10 of 14 pass attempts for 204 yards in the air.

“We play against each other at practice but we came out (Friday) and played together as a team. It’s a blessing to get a great win like that to start out the season,” Spencer said.
