Dukes fall to Raiders, 49-6

Gloucester High School varsity football players suffered a 49-6 loss to host Warwick on Friday to end the regular season with a 6-4 record. 

The Dukes have a bye this week and results from this week’s games among other teams will determine if Gloucester gets a playoff opportunity.

At Todd Stadium in Newport News on Friday, the Dukes were down, 21-0, at the half. They got on the board in the third quarter after a blocked punt put the ball on the Warwick 27 and the Dukes worked it forward. 

The drive was capped when Gloucester quarterback Isaiah Lester ran the ball in from three yards out. The point after kick failed and six points was all the Dukes could muster against the Raiders, who went on to add 28 more points to their halftime score. ...
