Dukes fall to Grafton

The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team suffered a tough loss to Grafton on the road Monday, falling to the Clippers, 13-3. Grayson Shield, Hayden Simmons and Adrian Messner scored one run apiece for the Dukes. In hits, Shield, Simmons and Camden Phelps had two each, followed by Jackson East, Peyton Robbins and Messner with one hit apiece. Simmons and East also hit one RBI each. For GHS, Trevor Deyong and Riley White pitched two innings each, Kaleb Jenkins pitched one inning and Robbins pitched 0.1 innings. White struck out two batters, while Deyoung and Robbins each struck out one. The Dukes hosted York Wednesday afternoon, but the final score was not available at press time. They will host New Kent on Tuesday, Bruton next Wednesday, and Poquoson next Friday, April 3, before spring break begins the following week. All games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m....
