Dukes drop to 0-9 with loss to Kecoughtan

Gloucester High School dropped to 0-8 in Peninsula District standings and 0-9 overall with a 44-14 loss to Kecoughtan Friday in the last home game for the Dukes this season.

The Warriors scored five touchdowns and built a 36-0 lead over the hosts by halftime. After being held scoreless for three quarters, the Dukes got some offense going in the final period and scored a pair of touchdowns.

The first came on a 10-yard scoring pass from quarterback Caleb Smith to Diego Inzunza. Martaine Morris scored the second TD with a short run into the end zone. Both point after attempts by kicker Watkins Yeager were successful. In individual statistics, Gloucester’s Devon Pullen is sixth in the district in rushing with 642 yards and Yeager is seventh in kicking points with 14.

The Dukes have one last shot at a win tonight when they meet Menchville (0-8, 1-8) at 7 p.m. in Todd Stadium. ...
