Dukes dominate Heritage, Phoebus in Dec. 14 swim meet

Gloucester High School swimmers dominated the Holland Pool in their Dec. 14 meet with Heritage and Phoebus. The GHS boys beat Heritage, 77-17, and Phoebus, 78-8, while the Gloucester girls bested Heritage, 71-20, and Phoebus, 66-14.

Standouts for Gloucester included Ethan Schacht, Hunter Lempka, Jason DeGraw and Livvie Cohn for earning four firsts against both teams and Hattie Yeager who won four against Heritage and three against Phoebus. 

The 200 medley team of DeGraw, Will Greene, Lempka and Schacht won over both teams in 2.08.36 as did the 200 medley team of Yeager, Cohn, Jax Knox and Sara Eddy in 2.16.22.

Ethan Barefoot-Garcia beat both teams in the 200 freestyle in 2:46.56 as did Livvie Cohn in 2.09.86. Lyne Sabo was second in both races in 2.46. DeGraw beat both squads in the 200 individual medley in 2.28.38 and Hunter Emanus was second in 2.53.02. Macey Cohn won the girls’ 200 IM in 3.31.95.
