The Gloucester High School varsity football team defeated the Jamestown Eagles, 6-0, during last Thursday night’s home opener held at Dukes Stadium. Omari Lockley scored the only touchdown for the game. He also recorded eight carries for 100 yards during the match. Also on offense, Kayden Lovett recorded eight carries for 26 yards, Brayden Davidson had six carries for 22 yards and Matthew Hensley had one carry for six yards. Steven Byrd-McManus recorded five receptions for 24 yards, while Caiden Greene had three receptions for 38 yards. On defense, Dylan Delph recorded 8.5 tackles, followed by Brandon McDonald, Jadon Thompson and Evan McNulty with five each, A.J. Wright and Tim Hicks with three each, Joey Briggs and Hakeem Erraji with 2.5 each, Quincy Wade with two, Mayron Jones and Monte Chesson with 1.5 each and Ryan Sheridan with one.
