Dukes 0-3 after loss to Bethel

Gloucester varsity football players dropped to 0-3 on the season with a 56-19 loss at Bethel last Thursday. The Dukes put up points early but so did the Bruins, who also controlled the second half.

Devon Pullen got things off to a positive start for Gloucester when he returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and Jackson Lowther’s kick made it 7-0. The Bruins quickly responded with their own score to tie it and went on to score three more times in the opening quarter.

The Dukes got another TD from Pullen on a long run, and added a second quarter touchdown on a short pass from James Scott to Diego Inzunza. Bethel added a pair of touchdowns in the second and the score was 42-19 at the break. The Bruins tacked on two more in the third and the game was stopped during the fourth due to lightning.

Gloucester looks to get a win Friday night with a host of Warwick at 7 o’clock. The Raiders are also 0-3 on the season.
