DUANE LEE BORNEMAN

Duane Lee Borneman, 61, of Hayes, died April 22, 2017 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

Duane was a native of Wisconsin, and had been a resident of Gloucester for many years.

Duane was known as the “fake meteorologist” as he loved to predict the weather, especially “snow” on the local WXGM-FM Xtra 99.1 radio. Anyone who listens to the morning broadcast with Neal Steele has heard Duane on the air.

He was also known as “Duane the Cabinet Man” as he was a master craftsman in cabinet building. Duane loved racing, both dirt and NASCAR, and was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially fishing the lakes of Wisconsin. He was a member of the County Line Hunt Club. Duane will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jesse Borneman.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Melody Rodgers-Borneman; parents, Ralph and Genevieve Borneman; brothers, Gary Borneman (Joan) and Mark Borneman (Cathy); special cousin, Karl Kegler; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; aunts, uncles, cousins; special friends, Karen and Lewis Burcher, Bill Ritchie and Mark Harvell, and many other friends.

A Celebration of Life service conducted by the Rev. Tom Cohick will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Beulah Baptist Church, Ware Neck. Committal service will be at a later date in Wisconsin.

In Duane’s memory, the family desires contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
