Driving the float is a Rowe family tradition

The Rowe family has school spirit, yes they do.

In this past Thursday’s Gloucester High School homecoming parade, Greyson Rowe kept alive a tradition of driving the truck that pulls the senior class float.

Greyson is the third member in his family to get this honor, following in the footsteps of his father Doug Rowe and older sister Taylor Rowe.

Doug Rowe, GHS class of 1992, pulled his class float as a sophomore, junior and senior in the parade with his 1981 GMC. In 2019, Taylor Rowe pulled the class float in her 2002 GMC Sierra. And last week, Greyson did the same behind the wheel of his 1984 Chevy K20.

Being able to pull the float in the parade was important to the siblings. Taylor, a student at Liberty University, said she had known it was something she had wanted to do all year long leading up to the 2019 parade. She said it was one of her top memories from high school.
