Dr. Stallworth new pastor of Mathews Chapel UMC

The Rev. Dr. Marcus Stallworth, a native of Danville, Kentucky, will be the new pastor at Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church, Cobbs Creek, starting Sunday.

Stallworth earned two bachelor’s degrees in business administration and business education, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Eastern Kentucky University before earning a doctoral degree in educational leadership and administration from Clark Atlanta University. In 2019, Dr. Stallworth earned a master of divinity degree from Emory University-The Chandler School of Theology.

Stallworth has served as an educator at all levels, PreK-12. In addition, he has been an educational consultant, coordinating the efforts of whole-school improvement at the Kentucky Department of Education, and served as a local school administrator in Georgia.
