Dr. Gregg Shivers has been named Medical Director of Riverside Walter Reed Hospice in Gloucester.

Shivers also serves as Riverside’s assistant safety director, working closely with patient safety director Alan Bennett, a Riverside release said. The announcement on Shivers was made jointly by Riverside Health System, Riverside Lifelong Health and Aging Related Services, and Riverside Medical Group.

His appointment coincides with a broader health system-wide approach to clinical integration, as well as the creation of the Riverside Health System Compassionate Care Program, the release said, which is led by Dr. Laura Cunnington, Medical Director Palliative Care and Hospice Services; Carol Wilson, Director of Palliative Care and Advanced Care Planning, and Vickie Morgan, Director of Home Health and Hospice.
