Dr. Ransone honored with Medical College of Virginia Service to the Profession award

Dr. Sterling N. Ransone Jr. of Cobbs Creek, was one of seven physicians honored by the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation in its annual Salute to Service Awards at its Physicians Gala on Saturday in Norfolk.
Ransone received the night’s premiere award, Service to the Profession. He is the former president of the Medical Society of Virginia and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Ransone specializes in family medicine at Fishing Bay Family Practice in Deltaville. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in 1995. Married to Dr. Karen Ransone, they have three children.
