Dr. Robert W. Klink, a local OB/GYN who has treated thousands of local women since 1980 at what was formerly known as Gloucester Women’s Clinic, retired on Tuesday.

Klink, who has resided in Middlesex County for 10 years, said he plans to move soon to Sun City, a planned community in Hilton Head, S.C. There, he said he plans to golf, travel and enjoy his new-found interest in reading mystery fiction.

“I want to thank my staff and patients,” he said, adding a special thanks to staff and clients who have held several receptions for him at the office in recent weeks.

The local office on Meredith Drive, which became TPMG Middle Peninsula Women’s Care about three years ago, remains in good hands, Klink said. Three doctors, who also practice in Newport News and Williamsburg, will staff the local office, he said.
