Dr. Timothy Gardner, a board certified dermatologist, has joined Dermatology Consultants of Gloucester. After a transition period, he will begin managing the day-to-day operations of the practice, as Dr. David Muffelman, who has served Gloucester residents for 37 years, will be taking some time off to spend some time with his family. 

A Virginia native, Gardner attended University of Virginia Medical School in Charlottesville before embarking on a 13-year tour with the United States Army. After military service, he was in private practice for eight years in east Tennessee near his hometown of Abingdon in southwest Virginia.

Before coming to Gloucester, he cared for the dermatologic needs of veterans for four years at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina.

He said he is excited to move to the area his wife, Julia, calls home, and serve the dermatologic needs of a small town community similar to where he was raised.
