Dr. Ervin Anthony of Heathsville has joined the medical practice at Town Center Physicians in Mathews.

Although trained in family medicine, Anthony said he has been working in an emergency room for the past 15 to 20 years, primarily on the Gulf Coast of Florida. The emergency room generally allows just one visit with patients, and Anthony said he looks forward to once more being able to follow his patients along to see how they progress.

A Mechanicsville native, Anthony said he graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 1981 and finished his residency in Chesterfield County in 1984. He worked for the VA McGuire Medical Center in Richmond for a few years before he and his wife, Kathy, decided to move to Florida, where they have lived for the past 30 years.
