DOVE ROBERT RODGER

Dove Robert Rodger, beloved son of Michael John Rodger (deceased) and Loretta Annette Lombardo, passed suddenly from this life into eternity on July 9, 2017.

He was born in Georgia on March 2, 1964, and moved with his family to Virginia as a young boy. He lived all of his adult life in both South Carolina and Virginia, then settled permanently in Virginia more than 10 years ago. He was a resident of Gloucester County until his passing.

He is survived by his mother, Loretta Lombardo and stepfather Vincent John Lombardo Jr. of Charleston South Carolina, as well as his brother, Bryan Rodger; sister, Debbie Perkins, and stepbrother, Vincent John Lombardo III, and was preceded in death by his stepsister, Gina Lombardo. Survived also by his stepmother, Karen H. Rodger; stepgrandparents, Will and Joyce Hostetler, all of Gloucester; stepbrother, Joseph Walls; stepsister, Jennifer Bearchum and her husband Kurt; stepsister, Stephanie Mwesigwa and her husband Tony, as well as many nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by the love of his life, Jay Rodger, and their daughter, Jaylee Rodger of Gloucester. 

Dove loved life, family, and his soul mate Jay; he loved riding his Harley, and he was a Registered Patriot Guard rider. He worked in construction and truly enjoyed it. He had such a big heart, and was always ready to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed. Dove attended Highway to Heaven Biker Church in Gloucester, pastored by Allen Dougherty. 

There will be a memorial service at Newington Baptist Church, 6169 Main Street, Gloucester, this Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 11 a.m.
